Pastor Jeffrey C Thomas
Jeffrey and Effie (White) Thomas were married in 1975 and have two children. Singing is one of his ministry passions. He has been a member of two of the SJBC Choirs. His life scripture is Philippians 3:12-14 KJV: “I press toward the mark…”
Pastor Thomas matriculated and received Masters degrees at both Central CT State University and Hartford Seminary. After teaching in two Connecticut high schools, he was called to an Executive Director position in a year-round Camp and Retreat ministry where he served for over 25 years. He has served as a Hospice Chaplain for 18 years where he has supported patients and families as well as providing bereavement support in community settings.
Jeffrey C. Thomas and his family came to Saint James in 1984. He has provided leadership for the Men’s fellowship and Children and Youth Ministry. He has also served in the role of Assistant Pastor. Pastor Thomas has also served on the design team for national events concentrating on worship design and delivery. He pastored a church in Pawtucket, RI for ten years and served a second church in Coventry, RI for two years before becoming the Pastor of Saint James Baptist Church in October of 2018.
Pastor Thomas is a board member at Community Care Alliance in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. He has been a foster parent and served as a Community Men’s Mentor for several years.
