Church in Quarantine by Sister Alma Johnson

I have seen alot things in my lifetime, but this is new for me. I never thought I would see the day when Churches would close. It, however, has happened. COVID-19 – also known as Coronavirus – has infected our lives in a way that has brought us to a standstill. But through it all God is still working on our behalf.

Even though Churches are in quarantine, the spirit is still moving. There have been many situations that have come upon us over the years and somehow, we’ve managed to weather the storm. The Bible tells us through Christ we can do all things: even overcome the war against the contamination of the COVID-19 that has touched our lives and caused us to withdraw from Church – our meeting place, the house of God where we worship – and praise the LORD. Nevertheless, we are not done yet.

As believers, we know God is still in control and we can continue to praise and worship him because the Bible also tells us that our body is the temple and all praise comes from within; wherever we are, He is also.

The virus may have quarantined the Church but the temple is still moving. The doors may be closed but the Spirt is still alive. Know that there are many ways still left for us to come together.

So as we continue to look to the hills from where our help comes, we should pray for peace, love, and happiness. It may have stolen the space but we are still in race. To God be the Glory!!!!

Psalm 111:1

Praise ye the LORD, I will praise the Lord with my whole heart, in the assembly

This means we can assemble anywhere and He will be in the midst. He also said in His words.

Psalm 111:2

The works of the Lord are great, sought out of all them that have pleasure therein.”

For me this is very special because it is not that I only live for God because I should, I also find pleasure, peace, and joy. Knowing He is pleased with me, is enough to give me strength to continue in His love, standing on His word, depending on him for all things.

My word of encouragement is to remain safe and faithful to God and we will overcome.
